New to SSDs, would one of these be a lot better than the other?

I've never used an SSD before but I'd like to upgrade now for windows 10. I don't know what to look for aside from that they can read/write fast enough, so I'm just wondering if any of you guys would have an opinion on if one would be better than the other, or if they're both not worth buying.

I'm thinking more of the Biwin one, but I can't find any reviews on it, and it's like 20% cheaper than most SSDs, so I don't know if that'll mean it's a big trade off in performance.

Biwin one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Biwin-C6308-2-5-SATA-III-512GB-512-GB-2-5-inch-SSD-Samsung-EVO-/121748650212?hash=item1c58c8f8e4
Crucial one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/512GB-CRUCIAL-CT512M550SSD1-M550-2-5-SSD-SATA-III-solid-storage-drive-9-5mm-7mm-/331640099786?hash=item4d374a53ca

That's what I'm worried about haha (you posted again as I wrote this btw, I meant to not knowing how much data has been written), though the Biwin one has a 3 year warrenty. I looked up the read/write speeds and its 561/452, though on the ebay page it says 'Sustained Write:37 MB/S I 75MB/S I 143MB/S I 282MB/S I286MB/S ', which doesn't look so good at 37mb/s. Do all SSD's have similar performance with sustained stuff or is that quite bad?

For the record, the product page is here - http://www.biwin.com.cn/en/prodetail.asp?bid=22&sid=28&id=60&pid=399

Btw, since eco-pc has just under 200 feedback, I'm gonna guess it's either a tiny business or one guy :p

yeah but 3 year warranty with who? some one on ebay who might not be there in 3 months

my honest advice buy a samsung from a reputable company

yeah you may pay more or get a 250/256gb instead of 512gb

but you will get the speed and reliability and proper warranty

My Samsung 840 EVO has 551MB/s seq read, and 532MB/s seq write.
The Biwin specs you linked say: Read: 561MB/s Write: 452MB/s

So similar Read, faster Write for the Samsung. (Not that you'd actually notice).
But a no name drive, from some random guy on ebay...I wouldn't, under any circumstances.

Look up the prices for a 500GB 850 EVO. You may be quite surprised.
Quality drive for a similar price.

Is 500GB enough? That depends on a LOT of things.

Your usage, is this the only drive in the PC...stuff like that.

Alright thanks guys, I'll go for the evo later tonight :) Thinking about it, 500gb is probably more than enough, I do have other drives, I'm planning on moving the user folder to another drive and only installing the programs that I use a lot. I was originally planning on waiting longer until they match the price of hdds but I've got impatient haha

If you have other spinning drives to put stuff on, a 250GB is probably enough.

Oh, that sucks, thanks for the heads up and alternatives haha. I'll follow that windows 10 one, then anything it doesn't apply to I'll try use a symbolic link with some of the folders (if I can figure out how again), no way am I having the appdata folder messing up my precious SSD :p

I might go for 250gb then since I won't have many programs installed at once, and to be fair I invested in a 5tb drive a while back so I'm pretty sorted for normal space aha.

Actually, just had a quick look, I suppose 500gb might be worth it with the increasing size of games. If I was to move over skyrim and guild wars for example because they're both heavy on the hard drive, it'd take up over 20% of the total space, then if I was to buy GTA5 and star citizen, that'd be 80% of the space taken up by 4 games :p
