Hello, I am looking into building a better computer for overall performance with a focus on gaming.

Since I've never built a computer before I decided it was best to ask if the parts I'm looking into would work decently with each other, or if they are a good choice at all. (I'm looking at you Seagate, your Newegg reviews scare me!)

Here are the specs I'm looking at:

OS: Windows 7 Premium: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832416806&cm_re=windows_7-_-32-416-806-_-Product

Tower/Case: Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129021&ignorebbr=1&cm_re=PPSSBGDRYLXVJN-_-11-129-021-_-Product

MotherBoard: MSI Z97 GAMING 5 LGA 1150: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130770

CPU: Intel Core i5-4590 Haswell Quad-Core 3.3 GHz LGA 1150: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116991

Graphics Card: Two Nvidia Geforce GTX 560: Were given to me by a friend, needs testing.

PSU/Power Supply: RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W ATX12V V2.2: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152035

Hard Drives:
Boot/OS: SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2.5" 250GB SATA III: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA3FA2EV1108&cm_re=samsung_ssd-_-20-147-372-_-Product
Main: Seagate 3TB Desktop HDD SATA: http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Desktop-3-5-Inch-Internal-ST3000DM001/dp/B005T3GRLY (if sale holds)
Main (if sale does not hold): Seagate 1TB Desktop HDD SATA: http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Desktop-3-5-Inch-Internal-ST3000DM001/dp/B005T3GRLY

Optic Drive: ASUS Black 12X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135247

Apologies if this is clunky, as this is my first question here. Any advice on these parts or better alternatives for a good price are welcome. I would also like it if hardware recommendations don't push the budget too far past $1,000, I am simply looking for a decent rig (if this can be considered one) at a decent price.

A side note: If you have any tips for a newbie to the realm of PC building/gaming, please, throw em my way, as I need all the help I can get.

Whether or not you can help, cheers, and thanks for reading my request.

Just a very quick reply after a quick glance.

Your CPU choice is a locked (cannot be overclocked) i5-4690 but your motherboard choice is a Z97 (can support unlocked CPU's for overclocking). It will work but it's an illogical choice. Decide if you want to overclock or not. If you want to overclock: get a "k" CPU (e.g. i5-4690k) + that Z97 mobo. If you don't want to overclock: stick with the non-"k" (i recommend just the i5-4460 for price/performance) + get an H97 mobo.

Change that PSU! Raidmax is one of the most inefficient, unreliable and unsafe PSU's. Get the Seasonic or the XFX or the Antec or the EVGA. You need only 500W for that GTX 560 (SLI). But I would also suggest you get a newer more powerful single-GPU.

For RAM: If PC is strictly for gaming, no need for 16GB. It's a waste unless you're multi-tasking/editing/graphic design/videos. Get 2x4GB for a total of 8GB. Games will not use more than that.

Good choice on SSD!
HDD: if you can get a Western Digital much better. Some Seagates have been reported having a quick lifespan/early failure rates.

Will try to provide suggested parts selection later.
