I'm new to the forums so don't shoot me if this is in the wrong place.

My computer randomly freezes up entirely, I can't even access task manager. And immediately after Open Hardware Monitor shows that my CPU usage jumped to 90%+ on all six cores, but my RAM usage remained normal. I am very technologically inclined and I am 100% certain that I don't have any viruses or malware. My computer tends to freeze when I am just using a few tabs on Chrome or using Open Office. My brother has the same problem and his computer has some of that same components that mine does (I will post below). I've heard about G.Skill ram being bad and causing this issue. Thanks.

CPU - FX-6300 + 212 EVO
RAM - 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws @1600
GPU- XFX R9 280
MOBO - Gigabyte 970A- DS3P
PSU - EVGA 750W
Running my Windows 10 on a 120GB Kingston V300 SSD

It started doing this about four months ago, and I have owned the computer for about ten months, I built it myself. My idle temps are room temperature, and about 40C under max load.

Try running a memtest on the RAM and a HDD check tool from the manufacturer. I don't know if this is a trend, but I've seen a few people say that their 1600mhz Ripjaw ram with a FX-6300 gives them some freezing. Do you have any other spare RAM?
