I am stuck on whether or not to go with the Diamond Multimedia R9 290 With the reference cooler (Really loud, Runs hot) for $179.60 USD or the XFX D-D R9 280x for $165.26 USD. What should I Go with?
I am planning on doing a lot of gaming and recording the game play, then editing, encoding and rendering videos.

The R9 290 will perform better, for sure.

However overclocking is not recommended for the reference R9 290. Even though the R9 280X can overclock more freely the performance gap will stilb e there.

You should stick with the R9 290.
