I would really like some help. I'm looking to build a desktop computer for video editing and some casual gaming. The video editing is just mainly going to be for editing (and possible creating) animated videos. I purchased the Adobe Full Suite subscription to use all their products. Having After Effects and Premiere open at the same time is causing trouble for my laptop. I only have a Gateway NV76R series laptop, with no modifications. While I plan to use the PC mainly for video editing, it would also be nice to be able to play games on it casually. I don't plan to live stream to Twitch or do a Let's Play channel or anything like that. But I would like to try and join the PC gaming community.

I know almost nothing about building computers and this would be my first, completely custom PC build. (Babby's 1st PC). My budget would be $800-$1500, unless I REALLY need to go above for what I need. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

This would be good for what you say. The GTX 950 is a good card, it's good enough to run just about any game at medium/high, and the 6 core processor will help out with the editing/animating. If you want a more powerful GPU, you can go for a 970 or r9 390 and easily stay in budget.
