Hello everyone

I am planning to build my first gaming PC. I am not planning to overclock so I chose a cheap mobo, I want to have one of the best GPU right now though so I wouldnt need to upgrade for a while. Any advice about what parts are best is greatly appreciated, since I just went to PCpartpicker and got over it.

Advice:
-The i5-4690 is inferior to the Xeon e3-1231 v3. Both are non-overclocking processors. the Xeon is much closer to an i7 and will give you a lot more power. You shouldn't even consider the i5 when the Xeon is so closely priced.
-There is no need for an aftermarket cooler with a non-overclocking cooler. Both processors mentioned will come with a sufficient stock one.
-The H97 Anniversary is a low end board. The H97 Pro4 has better features, higher quality components, and almost the same price point.
-You can get faster ram with the same latency for almost the same price.
-The Samsung 840 Evo 250GB is extremely overpriced at $125.89. It is an old model with limited availability. Sites usually jack up the price of hard to...

Solution
-You don't need the extra cooler and all those fans. Already have 8 without them.
-At your price point you can get a better board.
-Overkill on memory. Some good CAS 8 will work.
-Overkill on storage and you picked older SSD.

i wouldn't say overkill on storage. i have 7TB installed and 4TB of external at the moment and running out of space quick. i would also go with an unlocked(k version) CPU and 8GB of >1600 DDR3. you can get good 2133 or 2400 for near to the price of 1600 nowadays.
