I'm trying to build my first gaming PC and I want to double check that all these parts are compatible, I was also wondering if someone could tell me what type of performance to get out of this, I want to play some newer games like GTA V. Also what parts do you guys think I should change to get better performance.

When you go for these high end graphic cards you want to be aware that they are LOONG.
A medium tower will often be VERY cramped, if not simply to small, large tower recommended.
I have a GTX 970 in a HAF-X Large tower, and it barely fits, i even had to remove door fan air vent funnel to make it fit.
I'd also amp up the PSU to 600W-650W just in case, and for future upgrades.

In the future, you might want to add another memory stick but 8 GB should do fine for most purposes.
Other then that it looks like a good set of hardware.

If you are going for a gaming rig, your monitor is also a very important part of your rig.
i can recommend: Asus 24" LED VG248QE
Which will give you the max out of your graphics card.

What do you think of the NZXT S340 (White) as a case, I've heard from others that this should have enough space but what do you think?

Check this! and If you don't need a disk drive it's great. I would especially recommend it with this build!

I would swap some of the above components, which -HH- listed, with:

CPU: i7 4790k $327.99 @ NCIX US
motherboard: MSI Z97-GAMING 5 $128.98 @ Newegg
Memory: G.SKill Ripjaws X 16Gb (2x8Gb) 2133Mhz $88.99 @ NCIX US
video card: MSI Gaming 4G GTX 980 $499.99 @ SuperBiiz
everything else the same

total: $1515.17

There is pretty much NO difference between the 4790K and 6700k. And the difference between DDR3 and DDR4 is very minor in actual gaming.
And 980 is of course better than a 390.

Looks great, I think I'm actually gonna go with this, can you just tell me one thing though, doesn't the cpu already come with a cooler? Correct me if I'm wrong but I wouldn't need to buy an additional CPU cooler right? Or is it just good to have an extra.

Thanks

You should rather go with the Haswell and get better gpu in return. Will be much better in the long run.
You are just paying too much premium right now when going Skylake with Z170 board and DDR4.

Also, aftermarket cooler is definitely best to have with i7. Sure, it comes with the stock cooler but if going on this expensive build, it's best to have the aftermarket cooler.

Thanks, and you're sure it's all compatible because I'm moving out of the country soon and I might not be able to return some parts if not compatible

I would like to get this same case but with a side window (a bit more expensive), is there any size difference? Does everything still fit?
