So I am in need of some help. A few days ago after coming out of sleep mode my computer gave me a beep code on startup, one long three short beeps. I have a gigabyte ga-x79-up4 motherboard. I have read many different things when it comes to what the code means, their website says memory issue many others say video card issue. My problem is I have no onboard graphics and my monitor simply says no signal detected and won't display. Monitor works fine, cables work fine, graphics card works fine ( all tested on identical setup my brother has). Even using his identical video card in my system won't display. The only other piece of information I can tell you is my first pci-e x16 slot is ruined, the plastic cover broke off and the metal "fingers" are exposed. They are not touching at all just exposed. Additionally the computer DID work for two days after the pci-e x16 broke and with nothing changed from how it sits now it stopped working. Any ideas on how to proceed or how to make my motherboard recognize my card is in another slot would be greatly appreciated. I am fully willing to give any information I can to help you. Thank you and sorry for wall of text.
