Long story short, there was a really big wind and rain the other day, never sone one for the past 6 years, but it blew through my open window and got the PC wet.

I was at the college so i couldn't stop it.

I don't know what exactly is failing, i suspect it is the PSU. I dried everything and waited a few days now, but when i boot up the pc, the cpu fan & heatsink barely spins, pc is in reboot-cycle and the RAM is extremely hot.

I want to ask if everything in my system got pretty much destroyed and everything needs a replacement, or can i get away with PSU replacement..? Im afraid not because why the RAM is heating up so much....

I don't have another PSU to check what exactly is failing, but can PSU be the main problem even if the PC boots, but it just doesn't give enough power to make it work properly?

I don't want to replace everything... I don't have the money...

I know it's my fault for leaving it near the window, so don't make the silly comments, but i'll tell you that when it's raining, nothing gets wet. This time, everything was wet, the desk, the pc, the carpet...

Again, if you have a computer to test these components on, that might be your option of choice, or you could always take your computer to a repair shop that has free diagnosis on the computer, and then if they find out what the problem is, you ask for your computer back and say you're building a new one and then replace the part that's damaged.

This of course, is an idea.

It could be your motherboard as well, without having another system to test parts on, I don't think that personally one can pinpoint the cause of this problem.

Thank you for the Idea, I hope my local Computer Centre doesn't charge for diagnostics.
