will this ram work my motherboard

so i bought some 16gb ddr3 ram with a speed of 1866mhz will this work fine with my asus M5A78L/M-USB3 motherboard?. I'm mainly here since reddit was useless & very rude.

Maybe - it will depend on the CPU more so than the mobo, the MC (memory controller) moved from the mobo (about 5 years ago) to the CPU, and the MC is the primary factor, i.e. the AMD 8xxx series of CPUs can generally run 1866, as can many of the 6xxx CPUs, then again few of the FX 4xxx series can handle 1866. Many still believe the mobo is the determining factor - have more on this in my article, item 4 of the Fiction part, here:
