I ran an Advanced Registry Optimizer on my SSD and it hasn't booted since. Hangs up at the bios splash.

I have an OCZ-3 240GB that I recently ran my Advanced Registry Optimizer program on. I have done this many times before, but this time upon the restart queued by the program I got locked up at the bios screen with a fuzzy line at the top of the screen. I have reset the bios and even if I change the boot sequence to put it last in the order of my 3 hard drives, having it connected at all to the mb causes a freeze. I have tried transferring the data with my EZ-Gig Drive Wire module but even having it connected to the module causes it to freeze. Is it time to lay my SSD to rest? How is it possible that changing the registry could cause the SSD to not be recognized ?

Thanks for your input,
Michael

I'm not a fan of OCZ SSDs but before giving up on it I'd try a clean install of Windows. Which ver. of Win. are you using?

Why did you move it to last in the boot order? Assuming that this is your boot drive, it should be first.

It could be a video driver problem. What CPU do you have? Does it have an IGPU? Do you have an external GPU? If so, take out the External GPU, hook up your monitor to the IGPU and see if that will boot.

Hello Yogi,

ASUS P8Z68-VLE
8GIGS DDR3-10600 mem
i5-2400 cpu
GTX 550-Ti card

Running the Reg Optimizer was the very last thing this drive successfully completed. Not sure if the system will boot to a clean install dvd if this drive is plugged in at all. Will try next. Thanks for your concern.

Hello Yogi,

ASUS P8Z68-VLE
8GIGS DDR3-10600 mem
i5-2400 cpu
GTX 550-Ti card

Running the Reg Optimizer was the very last thing this drive successfully completed. I have tried to connect the SSD and boot to my Firmware disc as a first order. Still hangs up at the BIOS screen. I think somehow it is fried. It is only a 240 Gig Agility3 so I guess I am shopping for a replacement. Thanks for your concern.

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode?
