Hi, guys.

I just upgraded my internet speed to 30Mbps and am interested in putting a network card. I am currently using onboard LAN from Asrock Extreme4 motherboard. Now when I opened the Ethernet Status, it shows that the speed is 100Mbps? What does this mean? Does it mean that the onboard LAN supports up to 100Mbps? Or is it running at that speed?

When I check my device manager, I can see this:

Just need clarification on this. Thanks!

It means the speed between your PC and the connected router is running 100mbit, and you will be talking to other boxes in your LAN at that speed. HOWEVER, once you get out to the Internet, then that speed slows down to your "bought" Internet speed.

Don't get excited, your Internet did not immediately gone up to 100mbit, no without paying more to the ISP anyway.
