So recently I've been having the black screen and sound loop issue when something odd hit me. I have a Nvidia EVGA 750 ti 2gb and can't recall it having something to connect to my Corsair 550w CSM PSU.

My friend who built my pc together was a little surprised it didn't have to connect to PSU because to his knowledge all of them do. I checked another forum and apparently even the 750 ti is supposed to connect to the PSU. Now this is a GPU that I transferred from an old desktop I had before my current gaming rig that another friend I have helped put it into. It was some standard Dell but I didn't watch him connect it so I'm not sure if he did connect to to the PSU and maybe my Corsair 550 W CSM one doesn't haven't the connections that are for my 750 ti. Could this be my issue? Any ideas? Like maybe the vollts are ramped up during gaming causing my rig to crash because it isn't connected to my PSU or does it not have too? Help please.

Answering just the PCIe connector on your 750 Ti, just last month I called and asked EVGA technical support about that connector on some of the 750 Ti models. They told me that it was an optional connector, to supply more power for users who wished to overclock their cards.

With that said, what does concern me is your Corsair 550 watt power supply. Are you stating that it doesn't have any PCIe 6 or 8 pin connectors? Not a single one? Or is it modular and you simply don't have any of the PCIe cables to connect to it?

Long story short, I do not think your crashing is related to the power connector not connected, unless you're doing a aggressive overclock. Run DDU to uninstall the drivers, reboot, re-install the drivers only (without Geforce Experience) then reboot again. Any change?

I read in other forums that apparently it doesn't have the 6 pin? Not sure man I'm mediocore at this but I'm almost certain it didn't. The PSU as far as I know is Semi-Modular.

Another thing I need to mention is the fact that the 24 pin part, the one that connects to the mobo the main chord I suppose doesn't latch entirely to my mobo. I've tried so hard to connect it but it almost feels like it's a millimeter away. Apparently other people have had this same issue which makes me believe i'm not receiving enough current while I'm gaming so when I stress it, it crashes. Unless that still doesn't sound right?

I really appreciate you replying and replying thouroghly because I feel almost lost with this black screening/sound loop etc. Figured it may have been that GPU issue I mentioned and or the PSU.

No this problem only occurs while I'm gaming. It boots up successful and I can browse and be on Twitch for hours.

But sometimes it'll occur other times it won't.

I even disabled the heat protection from the BIOS that causes it to automatically shut off if it gets "Too Hot" So it can't be because of that.
