Hey everyone this has been getting on my nerves for the last 2 / 3 hours..

Recently I got NBN (Australia's fastest internet choice) hooked up at the new house, and once it was usuable (2 days ago) my laptop has not been able to connect..

My phone, & other laptop can all connect so I thought I'd try an ethernet cable, however at that time I thought my ethernet port wasn't working so this morning I purchased a belkin usb to ethernet cable thinking it would work but when I had installed the driver for that - it would do the same as it does when it attempts connect wirelessly, takes a minute or 2 then the yellow triangle comes up..

I thought that's weird so it must definately be a driver problem, so after some searching around and getting pissed off, eventually found drivers which now, the main ethernet port can read it, money was wasted on the usb adapter - but the ethernet port still comes up as a yellow triangle, saying 'no internet access'

I've been able to connect wirelessly to other wifi connections in the past but now have no others to test in this property.. The laptop is an ASUS S550C and I currently have :
A qualcomm atheros ar9485 wireless network adapter in my devce manager and also this:
Realtek pcie gbe family controller

I believe they are the drivers, unless i'm missing some ? However I've been on the asus website and got the drivers from there but I may have missed some, would anyone be able to help me out ?

Thanks everyone

Solution
Can you open start menu > cmd > type "ping google.com" and see if it returns any results.
We'll start the diagnosis from there.
You could also right click on the wireless icon (bottom right of screen) and click "Troubleshoot problems". It may solve some problems automatically that way.
