SSD Mounting Question

I'm using this HTPC Case. I have the internal optical drive cage removed, and just use a external drive when needed. I'm working on cable management and tidying things up, and would like to remove the hard drive cage. That way I have complete access to every component when opening the case.

Can I just set the SSD drive on top of the PSU? I'm unsure if the PSU could mess up the SSD being that close, interference wise or whatever. I'm no electronic wiz or anything, so I'd like to know for sure before doing anything.

I'm also not sure about the velrco, but being sinthetic fiber, i wouldn't go there.

All the other options, as long as you don't cover the air exahust/intake of the PSU, It would be fine.

But don't you have other option?... those solutions sound kind of crazy...

Could you post some pictures please?

Here is the case again;

Silverstone Tek GD05B

You can see the mounting bracket above the PSU. The only thing it does is hold my SSD drive. I would prefer to remove it, so that when I open my case there are no brackets anywhere. The brackets unscrew easily. I can post some pics tomorrow, but it will take some time as I need to setup an account to do so, plus take pictures, etc.

but i thought you had already modified it, thats why i had asked for the pics :) wanted to see how it was after the mod.

Also, as long as you are not moving the case around much, is just connect the SATA and power cables to the SSD, and just leave it there, without being screwd/taped/whatever. Since the case is not moving around, there will come no harm to it.

(I used to have a 2.5'' HDD hanging on the side of my case, just connected to the SATA and power cables lol. The power cable for HDD stucks so hard on the drive, and the cable was so thick, that there was really no need for it to be screwd to anything)

I've been using this rig for about 2 months now. I absolutely love it. Some people here suggested the parts, and I used my old htpc case. Now that I can verify all is good. I'm just looking at cable management. The SSD/HDD bracket makes it a pain to do wire management, so I'm looking to rid my case of that bracket. It will open it up, and make things more easily accessible. Plus I plan to add a larger video card, which I will need better cable management for.

I will try to post some pics later today. I've been wanting to take pics for a while, but have put it off to do other things. I setup a imgur account just for this site, but haven't used it yet. I need to find login info, plus take pics, learn how to upload/link pics, etc. I will work on this when I get home.
