Hello, today i upgraded my ram from 4gb to 16 (2x8) and a new graphics card. But it wont boot. I have 2 HDDs - it keeps getting me the recognized reboot select proper boot device insert boot media message. I tried so far unplugging one HDD and run it only with the windows one, didnt work. Unpluging either of them and running booting through the DVD drive with the boot dvd. Changing the boot options and setting the eSata/Pata Controller between disabled, IDE (default) and AHCI and so far only disabled gave me boot but like with booting through the DVD it just goes BSOD with the BAD_POOL_CALLER error. Any help will be usefull :)

EDIT: the second failed also
EDIT2: Old ram allows me at least to install a new win from the dvd

Well, a clean install of windows went good. But i tried the new ram again and the same problem. I have 2x2 dual channel slots maybe ill try puting one stick in one channel and the other in the second one. Is it maybe possible that my motherboard does not support the Ram ? It says it should support up to 16gb of DDR3 1600mhz ram ... so i have 2x8GB DDR3 1600 Mhz and the QVL of the MB states even higher frequencies

Which specific make and model of RAM and graphics card? And in the meantime it would help to know the rest of your system specs. Could be a lot of things going on, especially depending on the relative age of the other components, size of the power supply, etc.

I would find it pretty unlikely that it's the hard drive or motherboard - it's not often that you change two components and then a completely different component just happens to go bad at exactly the same time. The odds against that are astronomical, unless you physically damaged something while putting the new parts in or forgot to hook something up while putting it back together. But you probably would've noticed either of those. The main suspect is always whatever you just changed.

Aha ... which motherboard is it? If it says it supports up to 16GB total and has four slots, there's a good chance each individual slot only supports 4GB.

Ok if anyone is still reading this, i bought a new pair of 2x4GB the same brand Kingston Hyperx Fury 1600mhz 1,5V (HX316C10FK2/8) and it still doesnt work ... tried setting manually everything in BIOS, without any effect, run memtest on my old ram perfectly, but both new just freeze the test at 14% and windows memtest at 15%

I don't think that the hyperX fury is compatible with that chipset so pick another 2x4gb set that uses XMP for setting up higher speeds, but really just use a decent 1333mhz set which would give the best compatibility.

Tried to take out the ram,do a clear cmos and stick the ram back, see if that helps with the other problems.

Wowe your system is behaving... advanced weirdly... since the RAMs are new it shouldn't be an issue. I think that there's something fishy with your MB or the CPU. Does the RAM work fine on other PCs?

This may work.

He got some new RAMs so it can't be defective.
