I've recently had a problem where my USB isn't being recognized by my laptop. when I connect my USB it makes a sound as if it has connected, but does not appear. I've tried all of my ports with no success. I've tried other USB's in the same ports, and they work. I've tried the faulty USB on other computers to no success. I tried opening my device manager > disk drives to uninstall the driver so that it could reinstall them automatically. While connected it didn't recognize the device under its own driver but rather as "USB MEMORY BAR USB device". I then tried opening up the computer management > disk management to create a new partition and found that my computer recognizes that their is a USB, but tells me "No Media".

The following is an image of what the partitions on my computer look like (*note the removable disk with no media)

Does anyone have any ideas/fixes for this issue?

Thanks!

Hey there, Lamon.

If it doesn't work with any of the computers you've tried it with, it might have failed. However, if you don't need your data, you could still try formatting it via DISKPART or by using one of the manufacturers' formatting tools which they offer for their memory cards an USB flash drives.

Hope that helps.
