so i have a rosewill challenger case with 5 case fans, i was wondering what the best fan config would be. right now i have one front intake, two side intakes, the top is exhaust, as is the rear fan. (the psu is pretty much independent, intakes from the bottom of the case and exhausts out the back so there is no impact on internal temperature or using it to exhaust the internal air.

The proof is in the pudding, as the saying goes. As a general rule you want more intake than exhaust. 3 intake 2 exhaust sounds right, but if your temps are higher than you want you might move fans around and do a little trial and error to see where you get best results.

You should know where your temps should be by doing a little research. If I had to take a blind guess with the information you provided, your setup is probably fine. If you are doing extreme overclocking and every degree counts then you need to post more information and pictures, temperatures, maybe someone can help you more.

whether or not you should have positive or negative pressure can be controversial. I'd recommend two intake fans, a side intake and 2 exhaust fans. I wouldn't get too worked up about it as long as your temps are safe.
