Hi,

I would like to watch youtube, browse web, check emails, watch some live streaming and tv, download videos and music, skype etc on my smartphone. I want a cheap budget smartphone.

My two options are Huawei Ascend Y330 or the Microsoft Lumia 435. Both cost around £43 in UK.

I really like the specs of the Lumia 435 except the fact that it is Windows Store which means I might not be able to get some good apps for live streaming of sports which are more easily available on Android.

Can anybody give me any opinions? Which one should I go for?

Solution
You'll be boned on the streaming apps. Even youtube as google refuses to release an official youtube app for windows phone, even when Microsoft literately made one for them. Have to make do with 3rd party ones that Google will randomly break at least twice a year. I like my lumia phone, 830, it does exactly what I want it to do. But from what you're talking about I think you'll have to get an Android phone.

The Moto G phone is the recommended budget Android phone it's performance is on par with the low end windows phones. I can't speak for that Huawei one you found, so many of the low end androids suck.

The lumia 435 is the better phone faster snapdragon 200 processor, better display, bigger battery and better overall feature set. Y330 does have a better camera. 435 is running lastest 8.1 windows and is presumably going to get windows 10. Even with Window lackluster app support Windows 8.1 is still better than android 4.2.

Why don't you look at the Samsung phones. They make excellent products and is more superior than Windows and more versatile also.

When it comes to low end phones, always pick Windows Phone 8/10 is it is much more responsive and faster overall. Android relies far too much on JavaVMs for applications and even certain OS features, which can make a phone feel slower than it actually is. Android 5.0 solves quite a bit of those slowdowns, but it's still no match for Windows Phone.
