There are two types of fans.
Cheaper quality fans tend to use what we call a copper bush, they are know to wear out quickly and once the bush becomes miss shaped the fan starts making a buzzing sound, with lots of vibration. This is because the inside of the bush becomes worn away and becomes slightly elliptical in shape.
Other than a perfect circular shape.
So the inner pin connected to the fan blade assembly begins to rub or wobble around in the elliptic worn shape of the copper bush center.
Just simply by a whole new unit if the case.
With the type of bearing used these fans should simply be replaced with a whole new unit, or fan.
The second type of fan does use two bearings, and lasts a lot longer, in fact about five times longer than the other solution.
So if the fan is only a year or more old then it likely has a cheaper fan based on a copper bush.
The bearings in more expensive fans are in fact sealed and look like this.

You can take the fan assembly apart and lubricate with WD 40 if the bearing type above.
