Everytime time I try to watch a store bought DVD I get the message "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card." All my drives area up to date. Please help.

I am running Windows 7 professional 64 bit.

1) I've NEVER gotten malware in over three years of using K-Lite, nor do others:

You may be confusing something else.

2) *I would install K-Lite first before troubleshooting further. If the problem is you do not have an MPEG2 decoder then installing K-Lite would solve this. If the problem is something else like a REGION CODE issue on DVD player, glitch or whatever then at least we've narrowed it down.

Thus my advice is:
a) Install K-Lite Standard from my first comment
b) Try opening a video using the K-Lite WMPC-HC player as well as the WMP (I'd recommend just using the WMPC-HC player included with K-Lite as it works great. Change the settings to FULLSCREEN and remember your position in DVD/Files).

lol i love it... i must be mistaken must i... no pal i aint.
K-lite codec pack is open source and often comes with malware. especially about the time of a new o.s release.
its not a joke, a diss or a troll. its a fact. and just because it hasnt happened to you, doesnt mean that others havent been infected...

https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/19070-k-lite-codec-pack/ infections have been found in k-lite going all the way back to 2009 and beyond.
