Hello,

While playing a game one night, my computer suddenly freezes and displays a blurred screen. I manually shut it down. Then when I try to turn it on again it doesn't boot or show a post screen. I've already tried every task on the POST thread on this forum. However, the computer still won't boot or display any signal to my monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I thought my motherboard must have fried or gone bad in some way. So I went out and bought the ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 and installed it. The computer will still not boot or display any signal to my peripherals. Could the issue be my psu, cpu, or graphics card?

Does the motherboard have on-board graphics by chance? Or another old grfx card lying around you can try? If so, try that and if it works that means card is bad.

If not that then my money is on the PSU as the culprit.

Sorry. I didn't relize your mobo didn't have integrated graphics If you have another pc sitting somewhere, try plugging it in there. How long have you had that card? I had my hd 6870 for 3 years and it died. 3-5 years is the average if you game almost everyday.

No I don't think the motherboard has on-board graphics, but I will try to put in an older graphics card and see if it boots or posts.

I built the computer in June 2013 and have had the card for the past 2 years now. This issue is sudden and hasn't occurred before.

Did it boot up with the old card?

No, unfortunately it didn't boot up with my old card either. What does that mean now? Is it my psu or gpu?
