Solution
Worth is something only YOU can determine.

It is a very nice and strong build.
I might do some things a bit differently.

1. For gaming, a i5-6600K will be equally good.
2. Skylake 14nm runs cool. You will exceed safe vcore before you need exotic cooling. Use a simple tower type cooler with a 120 or 140mm fan.
3. The metric of capability for ram is the clock rate divided by the cas. slower ram with a better cas is better.
DDR4 ram speed is largely irrelevant for Skylake. 2133 or 2400 1.2v is about right.
And, buy a 2 x 8gb kit. two sticks are easier to manage and will cost less.
