Hello All,
I got a great deal on a Dell Optiplex 790. Specs are i7-2600, 12GB RAM, 1TB HD, DVD-RW. It came with 2 AMD Radeon HD 6350 512MB cards. I don't need 2 cards with dual monitor support and am looking to replace and upgrade to a decent card preferably with dual monitor support. Apparently my system has a PSU of 240 Watts. Not really a gamer but use a lot of real time stock market data and charts and graphics for academic research. I have no interest in upgrading anything else besides the graphics card, but should I run across an SSD and/or Blu-Ray drive at a steal of a price, I would like to keep that option open. Unsure where to begin or what to get but have seen some cards with high benchmark like the ASUS AMD Radeon HD7750 1 GB GDDR5 and the EVGA Geforce Gt 740 2Gb sell on eBay for under $75 while others with a lower benchmark sell for close to $100. + or - $25 for the right card that will give me the best bang for the buck and no issues is what I'm hoping for. Does it matter for example if it's an Asus 6670 or a Sapphire 6670? Any pointers suggestions greatly appreciated. I have narrowed some of the options to the following:
ATI/AMD Radeon HD 6570 (TDP: 44 W / 757 Benchmark)
ASUS AMD Radeon HD 6670
ASUS AMD Radeon HD 7750 (TDP: 55 W / 1641 Benchmark)
EVGA Geforce Gt 740 2Gb
Nvidia GeForce GT 640 (TDP: 65 W / 1288 Benchmark)
Sapphire Radeon HD 6770 (TDP: 108 W / 1664 Benchmark)
Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 5850 (TDP: 151 W / 2266 Benchmark)
VisionTek Radeon HD 6850 (TDP: 127 W / 2239 Benchmark)
XFX HD-667X-ZWF4 Radeon HD 6670 (TDP: 66 W / 1050 Benchmark)
MSI GeForce GTX 750 Ti (TDP: 60 W / 3686 Benchmark)
Thanks.

Thanks Kisianik. If not looking to spend that much, think the EVGA Geforce Gt 740 2GB ($59 on eBay) would be good choice? http://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-Geforce-Gt-740-Pci-E-3-2Gb-Sc-Dvi-I-Dvi-D-Hdmi-Gddr5-VT8270-Graphics-Card-/321860202446?hash=item4af05cefce

Looks good. As mentioned not a gamer, plus or minus $25-$35 not an issue, mostly interested in overall value of something I can use without hassle of it having issues later on meaning not looking to get something more than what I need that might cause issues such as noise and fan failure when a lesser card would be optimal. How does EVGA stack up compared to MSI? Does it matter in my case? Thanks again.

I asked a q of someone who put a 2Gb vid card in one 6 months ago. They haven't got-around to answering. *** I presume their mobo blew up

I have a 790DT Win7 Pro 4Gb ddr3 which is also the small form factor- half height cards only, if you want to install the cover. (no big deal for me) I don't game but the i7-2600 plays vids relatively well.
