Can win 7 drivers work on win 8 platform?

Hi all,
I have just bought a new mobo: Asrock 880GM-LE FX for my AMD fx-6100. However, when I search online, I cannot find any drivers for the board on win 8.1 (or even 8). they only provide win 7 drivers. but the seller told me that this board was working on win 8.1 64bit?

I really want it to work on 8.1 so do i need to reinstall the drivers for win 8.1 on the board? (which is impossible to find) or I'll just use it without installing any driver?

Some Windows 7 drivers will work on Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 -- the keyword here is "some" (i.e., a qualifier). There should be no problems with the motherboard, as Windows will automatically search for the most appropriate drivers (well, theoretically).
