Hello guys, I have a fairly old pc (5 years) and I want to upgrade my memory to 8GB, the thing is I'm a newbie when it comes to choosing the best RAM.

My current setup is:
Gigabyte P55M-UD4
Intel 1156 i5 750 Box (2,66GHz)
GSKILL PC3-12800 4GB ECO CL7 (2x2GB) DDR3

Should I replace the two sticks with a new memory or add 1/2 sticks to the free slots?
Any suggestions on which ram to buy?

Thank you for your time :)

I'd get a set of the full amount you want to have, there's no guarantees when mixing DRAM and it may be very hard to pair up another stick with the ECO which has a very tight CL (7) and is low voltage also. I'd look for 2x4GB like the original Ripjaws or GSkill's NT line of value DRAM. Most newer lines of DRAM use high density memory chips which aren't generally supported by the 1156 mobos

That's what I was thinking, I'm going with 2x4gb original ripjaws. 12gb is good enough for me and they are not that expensive. Thanks for your help
