I want to buy a Nvidia GTX 970 video card (Asus, Msi or other company). Will this graphics card be compatible with mij Asus p8z68-V Pro motherboard (not Gen 3!). Many people ”think” it will but I’m looking for someone who actually tried it’s compatibility. I know the 700 series works using this motherboard but these cards are getting expensive rapidly.

Your ASUS MOBO has several PCIe slots so, yes, it will work, providing the PSU has enough power.

Ok, thanks for your answer. I'll consider buying a seasonic 750w (80+ gold) psu. Uses better componenten i presume.
