Title says it all. I use wiiflow on my wii and have been using 16gb usbs formated to NTFS and the wii reads the drive just fine and even pulls the games up without problems. I have tried formatting my WD to FAT32, NTFS and WBFS, but none of these will work. The whole reason I bought this hdd was so I could add more games to my collection, since each game downloaded is a minimum of 4gb each. Can this even be formatted at all to be read by the wii or should I just take back my WD to the store?

Welcome to the TH community, RickyBobby4489!

I'm truly sorry to hear about your issues with the WD External, however I'd recommend you to try to initialize the HDD first and the partition and format it through Disk Management. Here are a couple of tutorials from our knowledge base that you might find helpful:
Step 1: How to initialize your HDD - http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=LCjO9g
Step 2: How partition & format your HDD - http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=jQllBe

Since you'd be using it for console gaming, I think there are a couple of FAT32 file system limitations you should be aware of: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=mMNO29

Hope these will be useful to you. Let me know if you need further...
