how to know if ssd is compatible with pc. what should i be looking at to know if its compatible. i have been looking in to building a pc for a month, i know what is what.

- Make sure you have a SATA-connection available
- Make sure you have space in your case available
- Make sure your motherboard supports the SATA-III standard. Sata I or II would work, but won't allow you to fully utilize the speed of the ssd due to the data transfer limits. SATA-I can transfer up to 150MB/s, SATA-II up to 300 MB/s and SATA III up to 600 MB/s. Most modern motherboards use SATA-III.

SSDs usually have read/write speeds of ~500MB/s, close to the SATA-III limit.
