Greetings, People of Earth!

I have but one question for all ye glorious meatpuppets :)

In the name of Thalthst, The Horrible Gelatounous Blobb, I wish to enquire; I have aeons of lightyears to my home planet, and will need games for my journey: which OS could I use, if any, that is NOT the slowgoing windows, that might soothe my needs for massive graphics and, ultimately, support my silverscreen addiction....?

In short, I need to know what OS I can use, that might compete with windows, both for old and new games alike: Does windows have the DirectX sys patented, or is it available on more platforms, and, in that case, which.- I've heard about Chromium, but will this OS satisfy gaming needs?

If, btw, the DirectX has been patented, shouldn't it, in light of fair competition, be trialed for market inequality or something? not too sharp on the law, but.. wouldn't it be unfair competition or so?

Basically, will there ever be a competition to Windows, in the near future, when you want the gaming control of a PC?

That's it, any help will be greatly appreciated :)

With kind regards

Simon, the not so gelatinous

Most games are written for windows, there is no other viable option IMO currently thought Steam OS is making progess.
Of your with your advanced technology you could just have emulated these operating systems in your cranial neural processor and not made the earthings aware of an alien presence so I assume your's is defective since it didnt remind you of this to begin with.
Enjoy your journey.
