Firstly, I'm not sure if this is where I post this but anyway. I'm recently going to upgrade to fibre optics with BT Infinity and I was wondering if maybe it's time to upgrade from a simple laptop style nano dongle to a power-line adapter . I know that the adapters are better so I'm just wondering if I should and if this is the best adapter to go for? Any help appreciated pals :)

Solution
In terms of performance:

Ethernet cable direct to the router
Powerline or MoCA

WiFi

WiFi nano device

(those spaces are there for a reason)

Sorry for the late reply, haven't been on the site in ages, so I should start looking for a powerline adapter yes?

IF you can't run a Cat5e cable to the PC, then yes. Powerline would be your next best bet.

it's not really an option to go straight to router unfortunately, will they be a big loss between powerline and hardrouted?

It won't be AS fast as ethernet, but it will almost certainly be faster than your actual connection speed from your ISP.
However....every house is different. The physical electrical wiring may have an effect. And the only way to know is to try it.

The house I'm in is very new so I'd expect wiring to be top notch so should be no problems there, thank you for your help though I'll get to looking for one soon :D
