hello I recently have had an odd issue that i'm unable to fix. My ethernet connection was not properly connecting to the internet, so after attempting a few basic fixes, unplugging, restart, refresh via device manager. I tried out a fix that had previously worked for my wifi adaptor, uninstalling the ethernet adaptor in device manager, and clicking the "scan for hardware changes" button. Now my computer does not even recognize my ethernet port. I am confronted with this view

the "unknown device" is my ethernet adaptor
I've tried updating the killer network drivers but it is not even aware of an ethernet port on my computer. I have not tried anything CMOS/BIOS side as i don't think i'm skilled enough to venture there without a guide.
I do not know what the ethernet ports drivers are so i am unable to download and install them directly since MSI does not seem to have them published anywhere.

I again uninstalled and checked for hardware changes and now device manager shows this.

DXDAIG can be provided if it would be of any help.
other system specs are available.

appologies if this has been answered already I did a search and found mostly issues with out of date drivers but my computer does not even recognize the adaptor

Aren't "killer network drivers" and "ethernet ports drivers" the same thing? Killer does appear to be the manufacturer of the network controller.

LAN drivers appear to be available here:

If you previously had problems with the port and re-installing the drivers does not fix it, the controller may have simply failed and not able to recover. Do you recall the exact problem or error you had with the connection?

i had not had problems with it until yesterday.
I turned on my laptop in the morning and the ethernet connection was listed as "ethernet- limited"
the only issues i've had with networking before was that the wireless connection would not read 5 ghz wif signals unless it was uninstalled and re-installed.

not knowing exactly what a 'controller' is, how would i be able to fix that?
