Recently i built my first computer and when i was done i wanted to turn it on but it booted up for like a second and immediately turned off again. Does anybody know what could cause this problem? The components i used are all brand new except for the gpu. these are the components i used:
Prossecor: intel core i5 4590
RAM: 16GB DDR3 HyperX fury
Motherboard: msi z97 gaming 5
PSU: corsair cs650m
SSD: samsung 850 evo
GPU (6-7 years old): nvidia GT 220

ok my friend had the exact same issue. Try taking out the board on the mobo box...with cpu, heatsink, one stick of ram and connect the board and carefully power on. if you are afraid. see if there is any grounding or short circuit. try replacing the mounting screws and make sure no part of the board touches the cabinet.

Not necessarily. That graphics is integrated but not dedicated. Try my method. Check for short circuit. It is the most probable cause..

I don't know. do you have to have speakers installed in order for you to hear beeps or not?

if the old one isn't installed do you automatically use the integrated one? in both situations my computer doesn't start up

have you unisntalled the old nvidia drivers and then installed the new intel hd driver ???!! you can't have two separate gpu drivers at the same time because they must be conflicting each other ..

it can't be a driver issue. must be something hardware issue cause the computer turns off completely which shouldn't happen.. i still think there is some sort of short circuit....
