Of course it will. You could use a GDDR5 GPU if you really want. (If you can find a low end one so there is no bottle neck of course )

I had a Pentium 4 and 2gb ddr2 ram with a radeon hd 2400 agp card for 6 years I recently upgraded and got a whole new pc which ill be upgrading to its full potential with $400 Canadian and for your problem I recommend getting a better everything its not gonna be really worth it

Yes it will work fine. However, I once had a 210 GT paired with a Core 2 Duo E4500 and I tell you, the GPU is absolutely terrible.
