Quad channel memory in dual channel motherboard?

I want to put 16gb of 4x4 ram that come together in an asus Maximus vii hero. What will happen when I do this, like will there be any performance loss or will it only use 2 of the sticks. The reason I want to put 4 is because of the looks so I won't be heart broken if u shouldn't do it but if you could refer me to a motherboard that's black and red and supports a 4790k that would be helpful. Thanks

Quad channel will work perfectly. Just make sure you enable xmp profile from the BIOS. If you are going to put dual channel RAM then make sure you install both sticks in the slots that have the SAME colour. There are lots of guality motherboard choices (especially in the black-red colour scheme which is probably the most famous one) it just depends on your budget.
