my computer currently has a fx 8350 processor and 8gb of ram so i was wondering if the r9 390x will allow me to get 60 fps in nearly all games at 720p?

i find it hard to believe that you now have any games not running at 60fps on 720p even with the 270x. something sounds weird.

Depends on the psu. You could get away with a R9 380.

Hmmm... you dont need a 390x for 720p. The r7 270x should do just fine. The 390x is more suited towards 1080p, 1440p, and light 4k gaming.
