Greetings,

I had downloaded the Asrock app and updated my bios drivers through it upon rebooting I was brought to a screen that says Detected ATA/ATAPI Devices....
This CPU is not in CPU support list.
And goes no further.

The motherboard is an ASRock 970 Extreme3 r2.0
CPU is AMD FX 9370
Running windows 10

Solution
970 Extreme3 R2 doesn't support CPUs with a Thermal Design Power of more than 125 watts. The FX-9370 has a TDP of 220 watts.

The Thermal Design Power (TDP) is the average maximum power a processor can dissipate while running commercially available software. TDP is primarily used as a guideline for manufacturers of thermal solutions (heatsinks/fans, etc) which tells them how much heat their solution should dissipate.

CPU Support List:

Fatal1ty 970 Performance
The only 970 chipset motherboard to support AMD’s 220W CPUs

I believe it was 1.60 and now its 2.20, it was the latest driver for the motherboard through their update app. It was the first time I had updated the bios.

Well the 2.2 was meant to add a warning message when using an unsupported cpu.

Try to clear cmos and when you get into the bios, load optimized defaults.

^ This. Somehow I read the 9370 as an 8370.
