Will a dying video card kill the rest of the system?

My GTX 660 is dying and I was wondering if there's any kind of risk that it kills any other of the components in the system. When I play games some meshes look all messed up and the textures are not wrapped around the meshes, I see pieces of the 2d texture moving around where is supposed to be the mesh. I also see some pretty big polygons from the sky to the ground. That don't happens all the time and I was wondering if I can keep using it like that for the next two months because I won't be able to get a new one until then.

Solution
I would go for reinstalling OS / Game and downgrading drivers to any previous version you were running without issues. From my own experience, i've had some issues on Windows 7 with the newest drivers.

You might experience problem because of some features not working properly, anti aliasing etc. Try optimizing the game for better performance, not quality in the advanced properties using Geforce Experience.

If the issue persists. I would also advise to clean the card and the MOBO GPU Socket using compressed air (sold in cans in most of hardware stores or PC stores). Try cleaning your GPU cartridge using a soft rubber! It helped me a lot when i was getting kernel power losses due to GPU not receiving the power.

It has lifetime warranty so I can RMA it, but I would like to do that in two months, when I can get a new one. That way I can sell this one as new and use the money for the new card, because they use to send new card when you ask for RMA. Do you think is safe to use it until then?

Usually when a graphics card begins to fail you will see noise in the form of horizontal lines & streaks.

Although anything is possible , usually when a graphic card dies the only indication is no display. If the motherboard has integrated graphics , you can use that in the interim. Or you can get a cheap graphics card as a temporary fix.

I will show you a pic of the artifacts I'm getting:

I don't know if you noticed, but there are pieces of the 2D texture all around the messed up mesh and they actually move as the mesh moves.

Actually yes, this is the only game where this happens. Right now I just play World of tanks and Metro last light. I haven't played Metro since this is happening but I ran the benchmark and it ran OK. I also ran 3D Mark and it also ran OK. Do you think that is just some uncommon driver issue and the card didn't actually had any damage?

From my experiences, if the card was in fact dying/on its last legs then it would artifact similar to that in ALL games not just one

That will take more time and I'll be willing to do it if the game re-install and OS repair don't work.
