I'm absolutely new to overclocking and have couple of question....

1. Is Intel XTU (Extreme Tuning Utility) a good option to overclock my 4690k ?
2. Can Cooler Master Hyper 212x with extra exhaust fan handle the heat if I raise my CPU's multiplier to 4.5/4.6 Ghz ?
3. What will be the ideal voltage if I want to set it to 4.6 Ghz ? ( I think voltage can be different for you but still, any approx value) ?

*My motherboard is Gigabyte GA-Z97M-D3H.

Solution
Try setting the CPU voltage to 1.25 then simply raise the multiplier, 1 at a time till it crashes. From that point can try a little higher with the CPU voltage, but 1.25 is a accepted good top, monitor temps as you go, if reasonable can take it higher. Also read up on OCing, there are prob guides for your mobo and CPU and can try fine tuning to increase the OC
my suggestion, read guides, watch youtube. i know it may sound like a lot to do but it's worth it.
overclocking is not something you can do in a few minutes.

also, oc thru the bios, well at least that is what most (who know how to oc) use. not sure how good the current tools are right now.
read read read. oc is easier now than before.

check a few things (research), max safe voltage and temp. so you know your limit. you don't want a fried cpu

How can I know that I'm not over volting it ?

research the max safe voltage, google should help you there.
the things you will learn will help you later on, next time you will be giving out advices here also :)

i am not providing you the info since there are tons (do a quick google and you will see) of guides already online.
much more than we can explain here
