format hdd with new cpu

hi,
since im getting a new cpu, i will make a clean install of windows.
SHOULD i make a partition for windows ONLY, on the new 500gb hdd, or should i not partition the drive.
if i should partition,,why so?
could you help?

Solution
Format the hard drive, and try again. Select the unallocated space on disk 0 and install Windows. It will do everything it needs to do automatically.

Windows will create all the necessary partitions for it to work on its own, during the installation. It would just complicate it if you were to add partitions manually, you'd have to configure Windows to store things on the main partition and store other things on the secondary, it's more time consuming than it's worth.
