Why is the GPU not displaying

Hi

Basically I upgraded my old fm2 system to an i5 4460 with an ASRock Z97 Anniversary Motherboard Intel Z97 Socket 1150 and when I plug in my current Sapphire R9 270 Dual X 2GB (which I have had for a year and has been working fine) into the new motherboards pcie slot, put in the pcie 6pin cable and then connect the hdmi cable the monitor and turn on the pc I can not even see the bios even though the pc is loading up.

Sooooo I decided to put in my old Asus GTX 650 2GB and guess what it displays. I'm using the GTX 650 till I can get a GTX 900 series card or figure out why the Radeon card isn't recognized by the new motherboard.

Maybe the motherboard just hates Radeon cards

Weird....

try this.,...make sure the mb bios is up to date. in the bios check to see how the priamny dispaly is set. if it set to auto the mb may be starting up with the onboard video first with the amd card. set it to peg/pci first and make sure muilt monitor support is off so the onboard video port is off.

I had before plugged into a gigabyte motherboard with an Athlon 750k before hand and ran fine but my cpu wasn't allowing it to use it full power in games like titanfall, skyrim, fallout 3 and basically any huge sandbox games.

Though now I have the cpu I need I can't use the gpu....typical. I have to stick with the weak GTX 650 sadly still I probably get a gtx 970 ready for fallout 4.

computer components can be picky
