Hi,

My pc has started randomly turning off during play in MGS:V and other games too. It has never done this before i started playing MGS:V and it only started doing it later in the game.

That aside I have investigated the problem myself and it seems to be a overheating issue that shouldnt occur in my setup (non-oc with a h80 cooler).

I run as follows

FX-8150 (not oc)
GTX 750ti gpu
M5a99x evo r2.0 mobo
h80 cooler
16gb gskill ram

Looking at my temps in CPUID under load my mobos CPU temp readout is always between 15 and 30 degrees different to my CPU's temp readout.

In high load my mobo thinks my cpu is reaching 70 c but my cpu only thinks its in the low 50's

I believe that my mobo is switching off my PC for safety reasons but the temp readout that it is recieving is false due to my h80 never really going faster than it has for the year or so i have had it.

I am curious if there is something I can do to relieve this issue as I am at my wits end being unable to engross myself in a game for fear of it going off randomly.

Another thing of note is that if it happens I cant switch it right back on I have to turn it off at the back and drain the charge by holding down the power button until the led's go out and then it turns on fine as if nothing had happened.

It hasnt crashed running prime 95 for an hour and a bit also.

heres a screenshot of my cpuid as i turned on MGS:V

I checked that out and I am already running on Hi performance but my minimum processor state was set at 100% for some reason so i set it back to default 5% and Ill see how that goes first before trying to clean out all my fans. My pc is pretty dusty to be honest.
