Hi, I've just purchased a new motherboard and CPU for my pc & i was wondering if there was anything i have to do before i change motherboard like wipe my hard drive etc?

I've seen a few people mention that when installing the new windows software it will give me an option to reinstall windows e.g. delete old files?

Sorry for the noob question :p, Thanks.

Hey there, Datguyorange!

Once you have your new genuine Windows installation, it will give you the option to re-organize your storage and partitions, including formatting/erasing them. ( Here's something you might find useful: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/clean-install )
I'd recommend you to make sure that you have any important files backed up elsewhere before totally erasing your HDD.

Best of luck and happy computing with your upgraded rig! :D

You'll almost certainly want to reinstall your OS. I'd suggest you backup any files you want to keep from that drive (any other drives you have will not need to be wiped) before you begin a new installation. Also handy is the Windows Easy Transfer wizard which can pickup many of your settings and customizations, though not all of them. It'll also want to backup files in your user directory, and comes installed with Windows.
