Hi, so my Radeon R7 260X has started to make this very strange noise, and I have no idea why. My pc is fresh, I bult it myself about one year ago and the VGA never gave me this kind of problem so far.

My pc (if that's matter):
Win 10
MOBO: ASUS F2A55
CPU: AMD Athlon X4
VGA: R7 260 2GB
RAM: 4 GB

VGA is not overclocked.

The noise is this: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1Y5VT4xivqo
Now imagine to have this noise not even far a meter from your ear al the time. I want to punch it sooo much.

The noise strangely stops when I'm running any kind of game, but it start again after I close it (?).
Other strange fact, the noise seemt to grow it's intensity based on how long the pc is on.
Sorry but english is not my main leanguage, I try to explain myself in the best way I can.

I turn on my pc (no noise)
I make stuff in the internet and other things (no noise)
Play some games (all quiet, no noise at all)
Close game and returning on the internet (at this point noise start after some time, not so loud)
Turning off my pc or in suspension (no noise)
Turning on pc (noise star right in the moment the vga's fan begins to run to normal speed)
Play games (noise STOPS)
Close games and back on internet stuff (noise starts again but A LOT more intense)

At that point the noise is there whatever I do till I go to sleep and turn off my pc. The only way to stop it is to play games. The next day the cicle start from the beginning. Really, WTH?

If I try to move the vga the noise seems to stops for a second or less, but then it start again.
I tryed to place a pen right under the plast base to make the vga stay straight but no, it's all the same.

Help me please, I don't know what to do.

(sorry for long post and bad english)

No sir, it's the opposite. The noise stops when I play games. IDK what coil whine means, gomma make some search about that.

I clean the fans once in a while, like every 2-3 mounth. They should be clean now.

Yeah sure it's the fan. If I stop it with my finger the noise stops with it, and then it star again along with the fan spinning. Yes, I am absolutely sure it's the VGA, no doubt about it.

Right. When did this problem start happening? Have you dropped or knocked your PC recently accidentally?

Mid summer I think, which was very very hot this time - so hot that I kept the case a bit opened for all the season. No, not that I remember. I'm always carefull with it, I treat it like if it was made of glass.

Thanks, I've taken HWMonitor and keep track of everything related to the VGA. I will update when I got something.
Thank you again for your help.

Ok so, I've monitored the vga with HWMonitor since yesterday but I did not notice anything stange from it. Just some minute ago I tryed the Graphic OverDrive in the Catalyst suite and I found something useful.

The noise starts if I put the fan speed at 20%, and from there it gets higher and higher til 33%, which from what I can ear is the maximum intensity. Then from 33% to 35% it gets more quieter, and stops completely by setting 36%. Thogh if I touch the vga I can stil ear it, but very quiet.

So what's the solution, should I keep the fan speed never below 35-36%? Can this cause damage to the VGA on the long time?
