Solution
sounds like you trying to boot from the hard drive? and since it crashed.. it is messed up?
SO have you tried making sure it boots from DVD again?
That should give you the option to clear the HDD and start again.
To boot from DVD .. you can use the boot manager (check mobo manual.. may be F8 when it booting).. or just go into BIOS at boot and chang epriority to boot from DVD first.
HTH

hello, its 100% booting from CD/DVD and i cannot access my BIOS at all the gigabyte splash screen comes on for about 5 seconds but whatever i key i press nothings happens?

Hmmm.. sounds dodgy.. you sure?
You need be able to get into your BIOS.. you sure Keyboard input being detected? May be clear CMOS and try reset BIOs so you can get proper control. If your BIOS has corrupted.. you could be in trouble.. but I am assuming its not that. .and its "pilot error". Once you got access to your BIOS sorted - you can work on the boot issue.

No idea who selected this as the solution, because F8 is never used for boot device options, just the Windows boot menu.

Go into the BIOS and disable secure boot and enable legacy boot.

Shows what you know.. I had a mobo where F8 was the required key... it was a real pain to try and get it and not get the Windows special boot options. Cant recall the brand/age (I suspect old .. as it not common). If you google - others have the issue

http://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/f8-key-does-not-bring-up-startup-menu-203559/

Its what I said check mobo manual..to check the correct key.

Shows what I know? The poster hasn't even confirmed a solution yet, your first response is marked as the solution. What, do you have a second account you use to pick your own answers?

And you say it wasn't common, yet that's your go to answer? How does that even make sense?

hello, no matter what i try i cannot get into BIOS at all. all i can see is the gigabyte splash screen and options to access BIOS but it wont allow me to get into the BIOS then i get the BOOTMGR message ?

Now you are just being an idiot..
I said to check mobo manual.. and so it was a throwaway addition..was not worth me checking what are common keys.

As it happens I do seem to have some admin type privileges which means I do seem able to select "best answers" for anyones thread. But I don't abuse it.. I have only ever used it to unselect "best answers" when owners make mistakes.
I have not touched this.. but if OP wants me unselect it .. I will.

to OP.. sorry - while I would hope I could work out what wrong if I could see the machine.. without seeing it - I am out of ideas on why you cant get control of your BIOS... you have not mentioned what MOBO it is (beyond it being A Gigabyte board).. so don't know if it BIOs or UEFI.. but the manual should be the place to tell you all options to reset/get control.

Cheers

Have you tried the Del key during POST (Gigabyte splash screen)?

I sound like an idiot, yet you're the one who thinks you have limited admin rights here - EVERYONE has the ability to select or unselect responses as solutions.

And doing a quick search that takes literally seconds is much more worth while that tossing out wrong answers,

Yes, when I call you a moron, I'm really just saying that I am infinitely more intelligent than you.

Don't get mad because I call you out on selecting your own responses as solutions with a second account. You are wrong for doing that and for providing gibberish as "answers".

Go troll somewhere else.

LOL.. I was trying to refrain from responding to your blatant errors/inaccuracies (which are many and heinous) but will just refrain and trust the audience... so will restrict myself to some wise words (which, since you are clearly WAY more intelligent than me.. will be apparent to you already) ;)

"when you are in a hole... STOP DIGGING"
and
"better to let the world think you a fool... than open your mouth and remove all doubt"

as I said.. have a good day :) (even though you are clearly a very angry/sad person - I really do wish you all the best in getting less angry/sad )
Cheers :)

Blantant like F8 to select boot devices, right? You still won't admit how astronomically wrong that is.

Take your own advice, admit you're wrong when you're called out on it, and even better - don't respond when you don't know the answer.
Talking people into trying the stupid crap you suggest makes it worse than you just thinking you have advice.
