New SSD -- looking fuller than it should?

Hi,

Yesterday I bought an SSD (250gb) and its showing that its already about 90gb full. I have checked all the folders on the hard drive and I can only account for about 60gb of stuff or so (I cloned my last HDD onto it and I have just done a formatted upgrade to windows 10 so there's not all that much on there besides some steam games I downloaded again and some other programs).

What's taking up that other 30gb? I read that it could be system restore points (or page files) -- if so, is it possible for me to keep my system restore points and page files on my other old HDD (1tb) which I have also connected (but doesn't have the OS on it -- right now it just is media storage)? Will this have any negative ramifications?

Also: it's not windows.old because I transferred that off and deleted it.

Thanks for your time

Update: I have solved my own problem, no need to answer me, sorry for wasting your time.

Solution

I found that it is not possible to transfer my system restore points to another HDD but it is possible to reduce the number of restore points to save space. Additionally, it is possible to transfer page files to another hard drive (or minimize the space they occupy).

Do not take this as gospel, future readers
