I currently have a 250 GB SSD as my boot and program drive. I am using an HDD for my data (docs, pictures, etc). My HDD is giving signals that it is failing. All my data on that drive was backed up on a Seagate External HDD. Can, I add the files on my backup to the SSD safely? The amount of data on the backup is far below the capacity of the SSD, which is a Samsung EVO.

Solution
I don't see why not. Create a temporary folder on your desktop, or wherever, move the files into the folder, and then when and if you replace the other drive, just move them back.
