Hi,

Im wondering what will give the best gaming experience between the PS4 or an ASUS ROG G551JM-CN068H? Witch one is the most powerfull? I have the Asus now and I think its OK gamingwise at this current time, but the thing is I have a lot of friends with PS4 consoles and I would like to play online with them. But I dont want to invest in the PS4 if that means a decrease in gaming experience and quality. So witch one is the best?

Another consideration I have is the furure. Like I said the Asus is ok for the games that I play today, but for example when Fallout 4 comes out, will it be a major difference in preformance an quality on the PS4 or do you thing the laptop will hold up?

ASUS ROG G551JM-CN068H specs:
Processor: Intel i7-4710HQ
RAM: 8 gb (upgradeable to 16 gb)
Graphic card: Nvidia GTX 860m (the 2 gb model)
Storage: 1 TB HDD

I would very much apreciate your input and help on this matter as my knowlege in this field is very limited :)

PS4 is safer (things should run better and at similar graphics due to optimizations being rather poor on pc).
There is no such thing as future proof (both PS4 and asus will be outdated in some years, how many is impossible to tell).

The laptop is slightly better in raw power, but due to the fact that games in pc in most cases are poorly optmized, the PS4 is mot likeley the safer bet.

I would however suggest that you buy what you will probably use more. If you want to play with your friends it makes sense to get a PS4, even if the graphics are not top of the line (having fun is better than better graphics with no fun).

The good thing about the laptop is that it is transportable. So if you do travel often or want to bring your laptop with you to friends house, it might be a good option.

if portability is not an issue, then it would be desktop or ps4.
personally i have a ps3, but almost never used it. i like pc more, in between rounds of playing bf4/bf3, i just alt tab, browse a little, or do something else. go back a few sec later for another round. desktop is just more versatile compared to consoles. but that is just me

Well the issue is games really, these platforms have different games, i'd go for PS if you are looking for longevity because consoles last like 6-8 years before new console comes out. Where's with PC (especially laptop) you will have issues with newer game 2 years later.

There is no need in upgrading the pc with newer games. That is a mythos. If you set the quality like to ps4 have, then you can play any game you could play on ps4. On the other side, a console is easier to setup, no viruses and almost plug and play. If you want play with your friends and if the majority have a ps4, then just buy a ps4. Its a one time investment. On the pc, you have many games which you will not find on a ps4 and vice versa.

Tanks for the response guys. Its a difficult decision. Does anyone have some statistics or numbers as to the resources of the GPU that can be used to comparing?
