Hello,

I have 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 2133Mhz C11 Red DDR3

If I order another 2x4GB Gskill TridentX 2400Mhz CL10 DDR3

To make it 16GB altogether, would I have any sort of problems?
I can either do that, or Just order 16GB of the Gskill. (The corsair isn't available in my region to purchase). But if there are no problems with mixing these RAMs then it's probably better to put another 8GB Gskill besides my 8GB Corsair?

Solution
I wouldn't mix two sets of RAM with different speeds if I could help it. They may work, but the timings are likely different too, and that's where you really often run into trouble. The system is supposed to just downclock the faster set to match the slower, but it doesn't always work that way. Mixing two different brands with the same speed and timings would give you a better chance of success than that.

There is no benefit to more than 16 GB of RAM for gaming, by the way. Even 8GB ought to be plenty unless you are noticing performance problems.

I would just order the 16. Mixing different RAM *can* work but its wildly unpredictable, especially when mixing different speeds and timings such as in this case.
Getting 16 all at once is more expensive but chips that are sold as a pair are pre-tested to make sure they work flawlessly together.

Thanks guys. Another thing I could do is to buy 16GB (2x8) Corsair 2400Mhz. Would I be able to then use my 8GB (2x4) Corsair 2133Mhz along with that without any issues? I'm not an overclocker or anything like that.

Edit: Also in case your advice is to don't even mix two kind of Corsair RAMs together, then I'm going to order either 16GB corsair 2400 or 16GB Gskill 2400, which one do you suggest me to order now?

Well I actually just needed the more RAM for a game development project we are working on. So if I could use that 16 along with the 8 that'd still be very useful. But I think I'd just get the 16GB and sell the 8GB.

Thank you all.
