Dell Latitude D630 is having trouble recognizing the DVD , plz help.

I have a Dell laptop and for past few months - I am trying to use the DVD drive to watch videos. I can watch sometimes but most of the times it has issues. The DVD is not recognized and sometimes just hangs up
